Troubleshooting packaging issues


NSF-GFTC can:

  • Determine if there are product/package interactions that may cause undesirable off-odour and/or off-taste issues
  • Assist with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) challenges to extend shelf life
    • Optimize gas mixture
    • Select proper packaging material
    • Headspace gas analysis
    • On-site consultation for equipment set-up
    • Shelf life determination
  • Investigate package failure by investigating seal failure, verifying material construction, performing strength testing, determining barrier properties
