Good Distribution Practices

The Good Distribution Practices audit assesses the fundamental programs required to manage food safety in a distribution centre. The requirements for a GDP audit are based on the specific food safety standards and practices used by distribution centres or storage/retrieval facilities. These audits are similar to GMPs however tailored to the unique requirements of distribution centres. A GDP audit is also a preliminary requirement for GFTC HACCP Accreditation of distribution centres.

It includes the following:

  1. Premises
  2. Storage and distribution
  3. Equipment and maintenance
  4. Transportation
  5. Training and management of personnel
  6. Sanitation and Pest Control
  7. Traceability and recall
